The Liberty and Democracy Party (LDP) is pleased to announce the endorsement of Jacques Chester as candidate for the Darwin-based seat of Solomon. Jacques has set up a blog to record his campaign experiences at http://chester4solomon.com and he has a good post there about Costello’s “tax reform” announcement.
In his first post Jacques gives his reason for running:
“Some people have said I am crazy to stand. They might be right. But I’m not doing it because it’s the easy thing to do — I’m doing it because it’s the right thing to do. It’s too easy to sit on the sidelines and say how it ought to be done, rather than to get up and try and do it. There is no better time to push for a free, just and prosperous nation than now.”

Thanks for the plug. I notice that web 2.0 commentator Duncan Riley is thinking about running as well:

Duncan has had second thoughts.
