What’s the story with the Liberal candidate numbers? Which seats have both National and Liberal candidates? Will there be a coalition candidate in every seat?

I’m also rather disappointed to see there’s not a Democrat candidate in every seat.

  2. John Humphreys Says:

The Democrats aren’t running anybody for the House in Western Australia.

There will be a coalition candidate in every electorate. According to their coalition agreement, the Liberals and Nationals can run against each other whenever one of them currently doesn’t hold the seat or the sitting member is retiring. For example, there is a three-cornered contest in the new rural Qld seat of Flynn, and in Leichhardt (Nth Qld) where the sitting Liberal MP is retiring.

    CEC — 81

We need the commitment of these guys…. 0.1% or less for almost every one of those candidates and yet every single election they come back out of the woodwork for another go with candidates all over the place.
