The LDP is Australia’s only low-tax party. We believe that Australia’s current tax rate is signficantly higher than it should be and that you pay too much tax.
Reform 30/30
Central to our tax policy is reform to the income tax system. Our income tax policy includes:
* Increasing the tax free threshold to $30,000
* Introducing a flat tax of 30%
* Abolishing the Medicare levy

Other tax policies
The LDP believes in reducing the entire tax burden and shrinking the size of government. Unlike all other parties we do not believe in “sin” taxes, where the government introduces significantly higher tax on activities that the government doesn’t approve of (e.g. smoking, drinking, gambling, driving). Unlike the other parties we don’t just want to change the tax system, we want to abolish taxes.
